Our research has been presented at regional, national and international sport medicine, sport innovation, sport concussion and neuroscience conferences, including the 5th International Conference on Concussion in Sport held in Berlin, Germany (October 2016). Several of our research studies have been submitted for peer-review publication, including the reliability and prospective validation of our novel robotic technology.

Designed and monitored by a sport medicine physician experienced with concussion and multi-disciplinary team of professionals, our clinical program utilizes a comprehensive battery of pre-season, healthy, clinical assessments which enables our clinical team to design the most efficient and effective individualized post-concussion treatment strategy possible for each athlete.

We communicate with your team therapist and/or coaches during every step of the recovery process and provide written medical clearance by an experienced sport medicine physician for the athlete to return to unrestricted competition/game play.

Our multi-disciplinary team is leaders in their respective fields (e.g., sport medicine physicians, athletic therapy, physiotherapy, vestibular therapy, exercise physiology, neuro-optometry, sport dietitian, sport psychology, sport psychiatry, sport audiology and clinical research), many of whom work with high performance athletes in their daily training environment. Thus, we understand athletes, coaches, and the demands of high performance sport.

Our clinical research team has been prospectively assessing acute sport-related concussion biomarkers, innovative neuroimaging and primary prevention strategies, as well as the clinical usefulness of cutting-edge robotic technology to objectively and precisely assess sensory, motor, cognitive, visual gaze (oculomotor control) and balance (postural stability) with support from Own the Podium, Canadian Sport Institute Calgary, Mitacs, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Alberta Innovates-Health Solutions, Hotchkiss Brain Institute, Department of Clinical Neurosciences (University of Calgary), Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine and Philanthropic donations. Our team has also been characterizing autonomic nervous system function following a concussion and its response to cognitive and exercise challenges through recovery and return to sport. We believe our integrative approach to assessment holds significant promise in managing, monitoring, prognosticating, preventing, and accelerating recovery and readiness to successfully return to sport following a concussive injury.
